The CAA is entering the final review stage for new fly-in safety guidance. This consultation aims to support airfield operators and organisers in hosting safe social events while maintaining the grassroots spirit of the UK general aviation community.

The CAA’s consultation on non-statutory safety guidance for fly-ins, air rallies, and races is moving into its final review phase before the intended publication in April 2026.

While the consultation period recently closed, the GA community is eagerly awaiting the final CAP document. The guidance aims to support airfield organisers in creating safer environments, covering circuit procedures, electronic conspicuity, and arrival maps, without adding heavy-handed regulatory burdens.

For pilots, this means more structured and predictable "Land-Away" events this summer. Keep an eye on your favourite airfield's bulletin board for upcoming dates as the season warms up.
